How Tribe Pics works

One event, everyone's photos, full size. Someone starts a tribe for the event, everyone who was there joins with a code and adds their photos, and everyone can save the ones they want.

Watch it first

A minute and a half on a phone: create an account, join a tribe, add photos, save one.

Step by step
  1. Get the app. Download Tribe Pics from the App Store on iPhone or iPad, or from Google Play on Android. It is free.
  2. Create your account. Open the app and tap Create account. Enter your name and your email address, then the six-digit code we email you. There is no password. Check the address carefully: the code only goes to the address you typed.
  3. Join a tribe. Tap Join with a code and type the six letters and numbers the organiser gave you. Or just scan their QR code with your phone camera. If you are already in that tribe, the app says so and takes you straight to it.
  4. Add your photos. Open the tribe and tap Add photos, then pick as many as you like. Stay in the app until the counter says they are all done; the screen stays on for you. On a computer, you can also add photos on this website: open the tribe and use Add photos.
  5. Save what you like. Tap any photo and choose Save to phone. On a computer, open the tribe here on the website and download everyone's photos, one person's, or the ones you pick, as a zip file.
For organisers
  • Your tribe's code, link and QR are on the tribe page, in the app and on this website.
  • On the website, Print a table card gives you a page with the QR and the code in large print to put out at the event.
  • A tribe closes 90 days after it was made, and its photos are then deleted. Everyone gets a reminder a week before, so they can save what they want.
  • Want to organise an event? Tap Become an organiser on My tribes or in Settings, here or in the app, read what it involves and agree. Then start a tribe from My tribes, and use Organiser tools on the tribe page to rename it, invite by email, remove someone, get a new code or close it for new photos.
  • Viewers. Someone who could not be there, the grandparents who could not travel, can follow the tribe as a viewer: they see every photo as it arrives and save what they want, but cannot add any. Tick Add as viewers when you invite them, tick Can add photos on or off next to anyone in the tribe, or switch off New members can add photos so everyone who joins by code is a viewer until you say otherwise.
Common questions
My code did not arrive.
Look in your Spam or Junk folder, and check the email address on the code screen is right. If you have no account yet, the app tells you so: tap Create account first. You can ask for up to five codes an hour.
I joined but cannot see the tribe.
It is on your My tribes screen. Tap it to open it.
Who can see my photos?
Only the people in that tribe. Nothing is public or searchable. In a big tribe, some people may not know you, so add only photos you are happy to share.
Are my photos kept for ever?
No. They go when the tribe closes, 90 days after it started. Save the ones you want to keep.
Someone added something they should not have.
Tap the photo and choose Report. A person looks at every report within 24 hours. You can also Block someone so you stop seeing each other.
How do I leave or delete my account?
In Settings, in the app or on this website. Deleting removes your photos and your account for good.
