Plain words, no surprises
Version 2026-09-22. Applies to the Tribe Pics app and tr83.com.
The short version
Tribe Pics is a free way to collect everyone's photos from one event in one private place and let each person save the ones they want at full size. It is made and run by one person as a personal project. It is not a storage or backup service. Tribes close 90 days after they are created and everything in them is deleted. Download what you want to keep before then.
1. Who can use it
You must be 16 or older. You need an email address you control; that is how you sign in. One account per email.
2. Your photos
You keep every right to the photos you add. By adding a photo to a tribe you give the other members of that tribe permission to view it and to download it at full size, which is the whole point of the app. Only add photos you took or have the right to share, and think of the people in them.
You can delete your own photos at any time. The tribe's organiser can also remove any photo in their tribe, and we can remove anything that breaks these terms.
Find me in photos is optional and off unless an administrator switches it on for a tribe. If you add a selfie, the app works out a description of your face and uses it to find you in the photos of those tribes. Members of a tribe you are in can then see your name on photos you are in and filter to them. You can remove your selfie at any time, which deletes the description and every match. Faces of people who did not add a selfie are not named.
3. Tribes close and photos are deleted
Every tribe closes 90 days after it was created. Members get an email a week before. On the closing day the tribe, its photos and every copy we hold are deleted. This cannot be undone or extended. Organisers can also delete a tribe earlier, which deletes its photos immediately.
Because of this, Tribe Pics is not a place to keep photos. Save them to your phone or computer. We are not responsible for photos that are lost, deleted or unavailable for any reason.
4. What you may not do
No content that is illegal, abusive, sexual involving anyone under 18, or that exposes someone's private life without their consent. No using the service to harass anyone. No trying to get around the limits, break in, or scrape other people's photos. We may remove content, close tribes or disable accounts that break these rules, without notice where we think it is needed.
5. Reports and takedowns
Every photo can be reported from inside the app, and any member can be blocked. Reports go to a person, not a queue, and are looked at within 24 hours. If you believe something on Tribe Pics infringes your rights, email support@tr83.com with a link or description and we will act on it.
6. Emails we send
While you have an account we send the emails needed to run it: sign-in codes, one welcome note after you sign up, invitations to tribes, the closing warning, a reminder when your organiser asks the tribe for its photos (at most one a day from a tribe; you can switch these off in Settings), and the outcome of anything you reported. There is no marketing email.
7. Limits and changes
There are limits on photos per person, photos per tribe, file size and tribes per organiser. They may change. The app may change or stop at any time; if it stops, you will be told in time to download your photos.
8. No warranty, limited liability
Tribe Pics is provided free, as is, and used at your own risk. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties and are not liable for any loss or damage arising from using it or from photos being lost, deleted, unavailable or seen by other members of a tribe you added them to.
9. Your account
You can delete your account from Settings in the app or on the web. That removes your photos, memberships and account for good.
10. The legal bit
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States. If part of them cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. Questions: support@tr83.com.
